Hi, Steve, did you play there this year? I don’t recall the ginger snaps when I visited, but it certainly fits with the overall geniality of Oakhurst Links. Would that somebody had the means and drive to take over! Anyway, shall I say thanks for throwing some more light on the subject?

I had the pleasure of playing Oakhurst with a good friend who is an excellent player. Regardless of the score (I scored much higher) the chance to have played such a unique and charming course will be one of the highlights of my life. Quaint, polite and leisurely. Truly, playing there was delightful from the hickory shafted niblick to the ginger snaps and lemonade in the clubhouse.
Would that I had the means to purchase the course! I would seek to preserve it so long as the ground itself existed.

Playing at Oakhurst is the closest thing on earth to “Playing in The Kingdom” with Lewis Keller taking Saint Peter’s place. It’s a spiritual journey to play golf as it was 1st played. I hope that a suitable buyer will be found that will keep this national treasure as is and let many more gat the opportunity to play golf in The Kingdom.
